Open-air Concert “NPW Goes POP: Back to the 80s” in Kamen with TT+ Audio GTX
Kamen, Germany—On June 2024, the concert hall's car park in Kamen transformed into a vibrant venue for the “NPW Goes POP: Back to the 80s” open-air concert. This event, featuring the New Philharmonic Orchestra Westphalia, promised a unique crossover program that blended classical and pop music from the 1980s.
The concert showcased the orchestra’s versatility, seamlessly integrating classical instruments with a contemporary band and highlighting extraordinary solo voices. Ensuring high acoustic quality across the expansive seating area presented a significant challenge, necessitating advanced audio solutions.
Audax Audio, the service provider for this event, employed the newly acquired TT+ Audio GTX 10 line array system suspending ten modules on each side of the stage with four GTS 29 double 19" subwoofers, all powered by XPS 16K amplifiers. The wide dispersion angle of 110 degrees minimized the need for additional side speakers. The system was connected to a Yamaha Rivage console via a 96 kHz Dante connection, ensuring low latency, high-quality sound output. The setup included RCF C 32 point-source outfills, RCF HL 6 frontfill, and TT 25-SMA stage monitors.
The GTX 10 system’s ability to handle the wide range of sounds required for the concert—from the delicate tones of classical instruments to the robust sounds of a pop band—made it an ideal choice for this event.
